Lake Drive Tudor

Our clients bought this 1920s-era Tudor knowing it had a lot of potential but also needed a lot of work. Much of the original character was still there, but DIY updates in the 1980s had taken a heavy toll.  Amy Carman Design was tasked with returning this home to its classic style while keeping it bright, family-friendly, and cozy.  One of the design challenges in this project was including the wish-list of features in each space without altering the classic proportions of the home.  In the kitchen, a trio of poorly remodeled spaces became a spacious eat-in kitchen with an island, professional-grade appliances, breakfast nook, and mudroom. In the master bath, careful planning in the 9x11-foot space meant the designers were able to include dual sinks, a dedicated water closet, a walk-in shower and a freestanding tub, providing the owners with their list of dream features all while working within the constraints of this historic home.
