Our Design Team

Amy CarmanAmy Carman

Owner, Principal Designer

As the firm’s founder and principal designer, Amy has built a reputation for taking a holistic approach to design rooted in interior architecture, technical skill and creativity.

Earning her degree in art and design from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Amy moved to Milwaukee to focus on her design career. After gaining experience in the residential design and construction industry, she ventured out on her own. Now, after nine years in business, what started as a one-woman enterprise has flourished into a respected young design firm. The firm’s work has been featured in M Magazine, the Journal Sentinel, Houzz, and HGTV.com among others.

In addition to her love of art and architecture, Amy enjoys traveling and spending time with her daughter, Ava, and husband, Aaron. The family recently traversed the country in their renovated vintage airstream trailer.

Amber McCoyAmber McCoy

Interior Designer & Project Manager

Amber began working with Amy Carman Design after several years of work in commercial construction, kitchen and bath design, and custom cabinetry design. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Art and Graphic Design, and capped her studies with a semester abroad in Italy, studying Italian and European influences in art and architecture.

She has spent over 15 years working with home builders on materials selections, remodeling, and design. Amber appreciates the process of selection in each project, and her favorite part of her job is getting to know the clients well enough to provide them with a space they love. She lives in Oconomowoc with her husband and spends her free time exploring Milwaukee (her new city), traveling and cooking with family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors.

 MacKenzie Pankey

Interior Designer

MacKenzie joined the team after earning her degree from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and an internship with one of Milwaukee’s premier architecture firms.  In addition to her great sense of style and creativity, she also has an invaluable technical background and the ability to create detailed, beautiful drawings and models of her projects.

MacKenzie is originally from Illinois but currently lives in Cudahy with her cat, Darby.  She loves living in Milwaukee, and especially appreciates the energy of the city – the festivals, the art, and the architecture.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and building her own furniture.

Brittany VogtBrittany Vogt

Brittany began working with Amy Carman Design after spending three years as an Artist in Residence for an architectural design firm in Sioux Falls. She has a degree in Art from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse with specialties in printmaking and ceramics. Her background in fine arts inspires her approach to design as well as her continuing work in illustration and graphic design. Her work is characterized by her artistic approach as well as a deep appreciation for the transformative power of curated materials within an interior space.

She and her husband are new to Milwaukee, but they are already enthusiastic about living a lakeshore life, complete with festivals, cheering the local sports teams, and touring breweries. In their spare time they enjoy exploring local restaurants and crossing National Parks off their travel list.

Sarah KickSarah Kick

Design Coordinator

Sarah joined Amy Carman Design as a design coordinator. She earned her degree in Communications and Media Studies from St. Norbert College, and previously spent time working in marketing. She enjoys building strong working relationships with clients, getting to know their desgin aesthetic, and helping them realize their vision for new spaces. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing a client's face when they love the designs presented to them.

A Milwaukee native, she is eager to be living back in her hometown and excited to pursue her career in interior design.  When she’s not spending time with friends, family, and her much-loved pets, she is exploring local restaurants, catching up on a long list of movies, and exploring her interest in landscape and portrait photography.

Patti Erickson

Business Manager

Patti joined Amy Carman Design with a background perfectly designed to be the firm’s Business Manager.  Along with many years of specialized experience in accounting and tax preparation, she also helped run a family construction and remodeling business.  All of this has exposed her to the many facets of home construction and design, both from a client perspective as well as a business perspective.

She and her family recently built their dream home, which became a family project and helped deepen her interest in design.  Patti lives with her husband Jeff and their four children in Union Grove.  Together they enjoy spending time with friends and family, vising their home in Eagle River, traveling, and baking.

Elisabeth Witt

Marketing & Business Development, Executive Assistant

After several years of providing photography for the firm, Elisabeth joined Amy Carman Design for the combined purposes of photography, marketing, and communication.  A graduate of St. Norbert College and The University of Michigan, she has a background reflecting her diverse set of interests — the arts, writing and literature, and environmental conservation.  Alongside her degrees in science, she has spent the past two decades pursuing her interests in photography and writing.

Elisabeth and her family live in Shorewood.  For the past fifteen years they have enjoyed refurbishing and restoring two Tudor homes together.  Living in old homes, and working to restore them, has given her a deep appreciation for architecture, craftsmanship, design, and her personal favorites— the charm of 1930s tile and lighting.  She and her husband have traveled the world together, which has now expanded to the joy of traveling the world with their children.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, tending her Japanese maple gardens, and volunteering with local conservation groups.
