Our Design Team
Amy Carman
Owner, Principal Designer
As the firm’s founder and principal designer, Amy has built a reputation for taking a holistic approach to design rooted in architecture, technical skill and creativity. She creates compelling interiors that are both timeless and uniquely tailored to the individuals she works for. She leads a team of talented designers, bringing her sensibility to every project that moves through the firm.
Earning her degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Amy moved to Milwaukee to focus on her design career. After gaining experience in residential design and construction, she ventured out on her own. Now, after a dozen years in business, what started as a one-woman enterprise has flourished into a respected design firm with local, regional and national projects. The firm’s award-winning work has been featured in Luxe Magazine, HGTV.com, Arch Daily, Milwaukee Magazine and Rue Daily among others.
In addition to her love of art and architecture, Amy enjoys traveling and spending time with her daughter, Ava, and husband, Aaron. The family recently traversed the country in their renovated vintage airstream trailer.
Amber McCoy
Senior Interior Designer
Amber began working with Amy Carman Design after several years of work in commercial construction, kitchen and bath design, and custom cabinetry design. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Art and Graphic Design, and capped her studies with a semester abroad in Italy, studying Italian and European influences in art and architecture.
She has spent over 15 years working with home builders on materials selections, remodeling, and design. Amber appreciates the process of selection in each project, and her favorite part of her job is getting to know the clients well enough to provide them with a space they love. She lives in Elm Grove with her husband and spends her free time exploring Milwaukee, traveling and cooking with family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors.
MacKenzie Pankey
Senior Interior Designer
MacKenzie joined the team after earning her degree from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and an internship with one of Milwaukee’s premier architecture firms. In addition to her great sense of style and creativity, she brings a high level technical skill to her projects, including her expertise in 3D modeling. ACD clients appreciate her creativity and drive as well as the energy and spirit she brings to every project.
MacKenzie is originally from Illinois but currently lives in Cudahy with her cat, Darby. She loves living in Milwaukee, and especially appreciates the energy of the city – the festivals, the art, and the architecture. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and building her own furniture.
Sarah Kick
Senior Design Coordinator
Sarah joined Amy Carman Design as a design coordinator. She earned her degree in Communications and Media Studies from St. Norbert College, and previously spent time working in marketing. She enjoys building strong working relationships with clients, getting to know their desgin aesthetic, and helping them realize their vision for new spaces. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing a client's face when they love the designs presented to them.
A Milwaukee native, she is eager to be living back in her hometown and excited to pursue her career in interior design. When she’s not spending time with friends, family, and her much-loved pets, she is exploring local restaurants, catching up on a long list of movies, and exploring her interest in landscape and portrait photography.
Arizona Corrigan
Design Coordinator
Arizona is excited to be joining Amy Carman Design as a Design Coordinator and looks forward to bringing ACD clients design visions to life by understanding their wants, needs and style. Tailoring spaces to clients is a passion of hers, whether that be in the floor plan, the finishes or the fine details. She received her degree in Interior Design from Gateway Technical College and has four years experience working in the design industry.
A Kenosha native, Arizona and her husband recently purchased their first home there. She is excited to put her design skills to good use with their ongoing projects and renovations. When she isn’t working and studying design you can find Arizona kayaking, road tripping and looking forward to adopting a dog later this year.
Patti Erickson
Business Manager
Patti joined Amy Carman Design with a background perfectly designed to be the firm’s Business Manager. Along with many years of specialized experience in accounting and tax preparation, she also helped run a family construction and remodeling business. All of this has exposed her to the many facets of home construction and design, both from a client perspective as well as a business perspective.
She and her family recently built their dream home, which became a family project and helped deepen her interest in design. Patti lives with her husband Jeff and their four children in Union Grove. Together they enjoy spending time with friends and family, vising their home in Eagle River, traveling, and baking.
