Beaver Lake Hideaway

This modern vacation home is located on Beaver Lake on a property that has been in our client’s family for three generations. The house was built in 2023 after the original home, which was well loved but in disrepair, was torn down. The modern structure nestles into the hillside among the trees and prairie, and although it enjoys a beautiful west-facing view of the lake, it’s terraced architecture and dark exterior palette make it barely noticeable from the water. A bunk room for the grandchildren was a requirement from the beginning, and our clients insisted on locating it in the lower level to connect it back to the bunk room from the original house. That first room was not nearly as nice. A windowless space with painted masonry block walls, it was affectionately know it as “the bat cave." The new Bat Cave is clad in dark slate shiplap and features six bunks with private reading lights, steel ladders, and camp style Pendelton blankets, making it a perfect hideaway for the grandkids.
