Summer Lake Home

The narrow layout of a lakefront lot determined the proportions of this new home. Rather than having a wide expanse of lakefront rooms, it was designed with the proportions of a row house. Narrow proportions work to its benefit, however, creating a three-story home where each floor has a different relationship to the lake. Lake houses are social, and embracing that was a specific intention of the design – the lower level is a seamless connection to the lake and the lifestyle of lake living. With three floors, however, this home also has the benefit of a warm, family-focused second story, and the serene beauty of a third floor perch overlooking the water.
